The premise of the VitalMind course is that while our reaction to life’s circumstances might be different, the thought process that leads to our actions is similar, even across demographic and economic backgrounds. This means we react differently to circumstances but we process them in the same way. What does this mean for you? What if you could learn what those processes are?
VitalMInd facilitates your understanding of the rationale behind how you manage and process life. Doing that enables you to live in a state whereby you are pro-active, not reactive. When you understand and are in control of the reasons behind your behavior, you are much more at cause over your life. You will handle life’s stresses more easily. The relationship between you and your co-workers, family, friends, etc., will be greatly improved. Your life overall will have more flow and ease and less drag and effort. The aim of VitalMind is to teach you how to be your own Life Coach. Before you know it, you will be someone else’s Life Coach.
Life Coaching
Life Coaching is a term you may be familiar with. It refers to working with someone who has no agenda regarding the sorting out of your life. In part, a “Life Coach” acts as a witness to your life, as well as a motivator and facilitator. Many who have done life coaching remark that being made accountable in their lives, by having to report on their activities, was the biggest benefit they received from the coaching. The difference between myself and all other life coaches is that I have developed a system, called VitalMind, which you will learn to use for the rest of your life. Consider it an owner’s manual for living life in the 21st Century.
While there are many prevalent models of psychology for you to choose from, I would contend that all models that do not account for the impact of technology are now obsolete. This program that I have developed, which you will learn by working with me, is the same as learning how to write. It doesn’t matter what you write about or why, but that you know how to write. VitalMind is exactly the same. Whether sorting out the reasons for your behavior in certain situations, or examining why your life outcomes have followed a particular pattern, this course will teach you the dynamics behind them. It should be noted, however, that I am not here to either condemn or condone your behavior. My job is to help you understand it, and based on what you decide to do about it, construct an effective plan of action for you going forward in your life. Therefore, the benefits go on… long past any time you spend with me.
What I do is actually teach you “self-coaching” - you learn the techniques behind how I work with you, and then you can work it yourself. When I have spent some time with you and am aware of your situation, then as things come up, you are spending time on the problem and not the history, because I already know all that. I have been blessed to have an excellent memory. I am both a keen observer and an active listener. When it comes to your situation, your desired outcome, your concerns, etc., you can bet you only have to tell me once. I have many years of experience working with people on the phone and through email. The course is set up so that as you work through each section, you have an answer sheet to record your answers and email them to me. I will study them, and this will provide both of us the opportunity to come up with effective talking points.
How We Work On You
A minimum commitment is two hours a week, which includes reading the materials, answering the questions and emailing them to me, as well as time on the phone with me.
The Truth Sheet is how we document your process and your progress. An accountant can look at your finances and put together a financial statement; we will do the same thing for your entire life. You document your life as it exists now on a couple sheets of paper that you refer to regularly and modify as necessary. You can work on your truth sheet by yourself as you learn and apply the material from the VitalMind course; and with me as well, in which case my experience and intuition helps you put it together much faster. You will ultimately learn to do it yourself, for this is what self-coaching is.
The first section of the course explains how technology has taken over every facet of life and what those ramifications are for your body and, especially in this course, for your mind. Technology is truly ubiquitous now. No part of life is untouched by it. It is taking over so quickly and so completely that every attempt to understand its impact, like the technology itself, quickly becomes obsolete as more and greater technological developments further impact the paradigm. For example, 8 out of the 10 most desired jobs today didn’t even exist ten years ago.
The second section has to do with family and your developmental process. It is not designed to relive, but rather rethink, the main events that shaped you. Some of these events we call defining moments. And you’ll make a list of them and see how they connect, and how each has contributed to making you the person you are today.
In section three, we will cover the principles of VitalMind. This includes the three elements of change, the five steps of evolution, the six steps to facilitate the process, and more.
Section four discusses the subject of learning and finalizes the completion of your Truth Sheet, which then acts as the playbook for your life going forward.
Your Accomplishments with VitalMind
I can help you sort out your life quickly, easily, and once and for all. What you need first is some relief. Perhaps you need to get a few things off your chest, or otherwise vent to get a bit of emotional relief. The next stage will be reactivity, where you will become upset perhaps with yourself and/or others for certain circumstances you find yourself in. The next step is resolution, where you make peace with where you are at, and come up with workable solutions to resolve the unfinished business of your life. Finally, there is removal, where your house is now in order and your life is in order, and your life is clear, concise, manageable, tolerable, understandable… and it’s a life you’re excited about being in. A life you’re proud to say, “Yeah, that’s my life, and I’m living it.”
Technology’s demands make it difficult to stay in present time because we are both unable to process what just happened (the past) and we are pushed endlessly on to the next thing (the future). Also, because there is so much unresolved about our lives and so little continuity, we constantly project into the future. When you are comfortable with yourself or somebody or something, you can just be with it with little or no effort, so that being present, then, comes naturally. By working with me, you will be taking a regular scheduled “break in the action” to take a breath, to catch up with yourself, to evaluate yourself, and to modify your plans and activities for the next period forward.
There are many cycles of activity per day, many are left unfinished because we can only allocate a moment to them before going on to the next thing, and people’s lives become one messy and tangled web of unfinished and unresolved things... projects at work, home, with yourself, with others. Things started but not completed, clutter - endless clutter - in our minds and in our lives. All kinds of stuff we know we should be doing because of all the information we have, yet there is no time to do it all, and the consequences are fairly self evident. What you and I will do together is orchestrate a game plan to carefully and methodically “clean up the debris” of your life in a very step by step, orderly manner. We will start with that which gives you the most anxiety first.
The Body Is A Barometer For Your Life
Let’s talk about your body for a moment, because your mind and body are like two sides of a coin. The other main difference in the life coaching I do from what other people do is that we cannot engage in this relationship unless you are willing to fundamentally evaluate and manage your biochemistry with my help. If I were to meet you at a lecture or otherwise face to face and you were to ask me, “What’s the single most effective thing I can do to change my life,” I would tell you, “Manage your biochemistry.”
Biochemistry determines your energy level, mood level, obesity level, general digestion, and general disposition. It is made up of all the things you take into your body, as it should be noted that your body is a chemical factory on the inside. I will teach you the tools to manage your eating and energy levels so that they are helping you instead of getting in the way of your clarity and peace of mind.
